One Moment: Midi Dresses

All I can say is----IT'S ABOUT TIME!   I couldn't be happier to see a drop in hemlines!  I found these three that I would love to add to my closet!

1.  DVF:  This is the perfect summer dress.  I can totally see wearing this on a sweltering day when its too hot to get dressed.  This would also be a fairly simple DIY for those of you (us) who want to tackle it.....hmmmm.....thinking, thinking, thinking.  This would also go to the office with a little cardi thrown over the top.  LOVE!!!

 2.  Giambattista Valli:  Navy/Black Brocade Sleeveless dress with jeweled hem.  I'm in love!!!!  Now I just have to find a way to pay for this beauty!

3.  Temperley Resort 2014:  The perfect Little Red Dress!  I don't even wear red often, but I love this!

One Moment: I Want.....

I want her hair, her cape, her skirt.....this life.

One Moment: Vera Wang Love

It makes sense for Vera Wang to design some amazing rings to go with her amazing wedding gowns.  The collection is called Love and has been available in the US since around 2011.  Now they've crossed the pond and you can find them at Goldsmith's jewellers.  If I had to pick one ring for the rest of my life, this one would be it!  Or at least until I found one I liked better.  What?  A girl can change her mind!

One Moment: Erdem

I've had a long time away from my blog.  The time and effort of doing outfit posts finally caught up with me.  The frustration also kept me away.  But I've missed blogging and have decided to change my blog a little lot.  Some fashion, some jewelry, some places, some thoughts from me on whatever I'm thinking at this one moment.

My first post in my new series called "One Moment" is the 2013 resort collection from Erdem.  I love the ladylike-but-still-a-little-unexpectedness of the pieces and most of all, I love the longer length of the dresses!

Style Star: Marion Cotilard

Marion Cotillard is a French actress who has risen to the top with her best known work, La Vie en Rose in 2007.  She won an Oscar for Best Actress for the film.  She has also received a Golden Globe, a BAFTA Award,

Obviously she is a talented woman!  Her

Christian Dior RTW Spring 2013

I don't often post about runway looks but I've been very anxious nervous curious to see what Raf Simons would do to at one of my all-time favorite design houses, Dior.  Known for lady-like, chic and classy designs, would Raf keep those thoughts or would he go all minimalistic on Dior?

Santas I've been watching.  Some of the looks for the Spring RTW line were just not exciting to me (several LBD's that were just plain) but I did find patterns and textures that I both love and don't love so much.  I re-read Raf's interview with Vogue back in Nov and I'm still encouraged and excited about what's to come.  His quotes are below.

What do you think of this line?

“more than a brand that functions only for a special event. For me, that’s a little bit too easy, and I don’t think that’s what Christian Dior wanted. He wanted his clothes to be on the street. He was fascinated by women, their culture, mentality, sexuality.”

“I want to bring some emotion back, to what I felt in the nineties, because I see a lot of amazing clothes, but I don’t see a lot of emotion now,” he says.

Suzy Parker

I'm obsessed with 1950's elegance.   Yes, there are fashion icons such as Jackie O, but in my opinion, no one can really outdo Suzy Parker.

She was an American model and actress and sister of famous model Dorian Leigh.  She was reportedly one of the first supermodels (yes, back in the 50's).   On her rise to the top, Suzy became the face of Chanel and close friends with Coco Chanel.    She was involved in a car accident and retired from modeling and acting in 1964.  She lived in California with her husband and four children.  Sadly, she died in May 2003.
