Snow Balls

We finally got the snow I was hoping for!  And I'll never get too old to throw a few snowballs at my photographer!

I am over wearing my vest again.  I love wearing it out since it's warm and less confining than a coat!  I'm also wearing a pleated skirt, a DIY shirt and the most difficult decision on snow days?  The shoes!  I chose a lug sole boot.  I have snow boots but the lug sole worked fine too.  I like how this is a dressed up, but dressed down look and I'll definitely be wearing it again.  I wore this shopping Sunday afternoon.

For my DIY shirt, I bought a plain black shirt and studs from ebay and studded the neckline.  It was time consuming and a little bit of a disaster in the washing machine (some studs fell off and I had to redo it) and I'll have to wear a shirt underneath to keep the studs from scratching me.  Other than that, I liked how it turned out lol!

Perfect packing snow!  Great for snowballs and snowmen!

Witchy

I wore this earlier in the week before we had some snow (yay!) but it was freezing cold outside.  I had planned the outfit with a shorter skirt and the cold air hit my legs and I wimped out.  I changed to the long black skirt.  I didn't realize what a witchy look it was until I saw the pictures.  Long jersey skirt and black granny boots = witchy.   Maybe that explains why I was in a bad mood the day I wore this!

Green Vintage Coat

It's finally gotten cold enough to drag out bring out my vintage coats.  One of these days I will show you them together in one post but for now, I'm wearing the emerald green vintage coat.  I got this off ebay several years ago and I love the big platter collar and the emerald color.  The only downside was the horrible plaid lining.  So I try to keep the coat closed when I'm wearing it unless I have on a favorite sweater and then the clashing patterns is oh, so chic.  Yeah right.

So I confess to you that I'm guilty of committing a horrible fashion faux pas and it's not tucking my shirts in.  I hate it.  I refuse.  I won't do it.  Ever.  So now that you know how I feel about it, I really should've tucked in my shirt for this look.  The sweater bunched up all day leaving a wasteland of shirt hanging out and I kept yanking the sweater down to make sure I didn't look like I slept in this.  I didn't really.  So next time I probably won't tuck in the shirt, I'll choose a different sweater.  That's how I roll.

But really this was supposed to be a post about my vintage coat and not my wardrobe malfunctions.

What do you think about the coat?

I'm tired of those old dead leaves.  Snow would be very pretty in this picture.

Milo is back on the blog!  He missed our photo shoots!

Navy

Monday was a bank holiday so I decided to take Tuesday off too.   I spend the long weekend doing exactly what I wanted to do (nothing) and recovering from my overtime at work.  For 2013 I have promised myself a new job (with working fewer hours!!)

Dressing up always recharges me and so do my vintage coats.  This coat looks like one I wore a few posts ago but it's a different coat.  I seem to pick out the same style coats and it's hard to pass them up.  I got this one for $10.00 at a thrift shop.  It was way more than that to have it cleaned!  But here is my look for church and brunch a few Sundays ago.

Hiking

I'm a true outdoor girl, even in the winter!  I wore this very casual outfit for a look around a nearby park before all the snow and ice melted away.  I hiked down two flights of iced over wooden steps to get the picture of the waterfall.  And I did it in those hiking heels.  Who says you can't look good while roughing it????

2013 is off to a CrAzY start!

Tweed and Burgundy

Today I am wearing one of my favorite winter skirts.  I love it because it's long, it's tweed and it has a twirly hem.  I decided to wear it with burgundy and a vintage sweater clip and coat.  I thought the crazy heels added a modern touch and was a little something unexpected after all the vintage-ness.

Ok, who's happy about Monday morning?
